Nice!

AOSA wants to take a moment to brag on our coaching staff and players...read on
From: "Blake  Herring"

Subject: RE: Hammond Post 3
Coach Jordan,

The pleasure is all ours here at Carson-Newman.  Coach Griffin and myself enjoyed watching your team play and the coaching staff coach.  Your 1b coach was coaching guys up before the game as they threw and coached in the dugout between innings. The 3b coach was active and up the 3b line when sending runners.  We enjoyed the 1st and 3rd play with one out after a trip to the mound and the runner executing a perfect hard pop up slide and then fist pumping after he scores. The little details that were shown today by your team of players and coaches reminded us of how baseball is supposed to be played.

I played American Legion baseball for 4 summers in NC growing up in high school and was sad to notice once moving to TN that it was not as established as what I once knew.  It was refreshing to see that American Legion badge on the side of their jerseys today and your team exude what American Legion baseball is all about.
          Good luck coach.

Quiz...

Do you know what these 4 boys have in common?

Justin Hutton   -   Chase Cunningham   -   Conner Gunn   -   Alex Reynolds

They attended four different high schools:  Justin at John Battle, Chase at Tennessee High, Conner at Dobyns-Bennett and Alex at Daniel Boone.  They are attending four different colleges:  Justin at Virginia Intermont, Chase at Walters State, Conner at Amherst and Alex at ETSU.

At one time, they were all members of Alpha Omega Sports Academy baseball program and coached by our very own instructor, Rich Jordan  AND all four of them made it to the post season tournaments at their respective colleges this year - Justin and Conner were 1 game away from their respective College World Series, Chase is going to his World Series and Alex remains to be seen how far they will go!

Alumni Update

LAKELAND, Fla. – Sophomore lefty John Cook struck out nine over seven strong innings and first-year catcher Conner Gunn blasted a two-run home run to power the Amherst College baseball team to a 5-2 win over previously-undefeated Endicott College at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational on Thursday.

With Cook keeping the Gulls (4-1) in check, the Lord Jeffs (5-2) never trailed, scoring three runs in the sixth inning as Gunn popped his first collegiate homer and the team’s first round-tripper of the season. After Cook’s seven quality frames, Eric Kotin ’14 continued his reliable work out of the Jeff bullpen, striking out a pair over two shutout innings for the save.
